I. The Apology of Socrates: Philosophy Defended

29. Philosophy is docile (teachable)

a. Socrates believes that the philosopher is always a student. What does he mean?

b. If Kreeft is right that teachers learn more than their students, does that mean students know more than their teachers? Why or why not?

c. Socrates believes that students can only learn if they have a “receptivity to, and love of, truth.” Explain what he means. Why is one’s mental attitude so important?
